General conversion question 4.6C and ECC6

For us, a lot of the problems we had were based around security and being able to execute the workflows.  Looks like new objects have been added that need to be included in the profile.  Otherwise didn't have to change the actual workflows.

We converted our HR system without many issues last year. Only a few WFs to manage.
I noticed a few issues with some dropped bindings, code errors (warnings in 4.6c), etc. No biggie. 
 
Now, we are converting our business side. We are debating if we should disable all WFs and 
bring them on-line individually after code corrections, repair bindings, etc. 
 

Curious to know (generally) how other WF'rs managed the conversion.
