Hi Jocelyn,
Sorry missed providing Release info earlier, we have two internal customers
one is on R/3 4.7 and other on ECC 6.0
but neither of them are using EP at all. They access ESS and MSS through
their own portal front end (Intranet),hence the question without going for
EP can we use these workflows in question by any means, what would be the
limitations if any..how can we make use of them using RFCs etc.
thanks
Harshita

Hi Harshita,
Life and work events don't have anything to do with Guided Procedures from
what I have seen.
There is some special config for building portal pages via backend
configuration which you would use for ESS/MSS.
But if you are not on ECC 6.0 EHP2 or greater or have EP 7.0 or greater you
cannot use these because the configuration and applications will not exist
in old releases. But if that's the case your options are very limited to
old techniques.
But surely you do have EP7.0 otherwise you would not have Guided Procedures
at all?
You still have not told us WHAT RELEASE you are on.. It makes it difficult
for us to help you.
Regards,
Jocelyn

Hi Jocelyn,
Thank you for you Reply.
I believe HCM processes and forms make use of Life and Work events which
is again tightely integrated with Guided procedures framework..
i was going through Guided Procedures Framework documentation and read that
it can be integrated/accessed using RFCs.
so my question is for those who are not on ECC.6.0 or EP 7.0, can these
Business workflows be exploited using RFCs?.
is there any documentation or has anyone done it? because just for these
workflows someone on older versions maynot be wanting to upgrade their
versions.
Any Input is appreciated
Thanks again
Harshita

Harshita,
Always tell us your release and if you are on ECC 6.0 your enhancement
pack level as this can make a major difference to what is available.
Some of these scenarios are covered in HCM Processes and Forms (HR
Administrative Services) - New Hire, Termination(Separation), Pay
changes, Transfers - so you should definitely look at that material in
the SAP Library. You need to be on at least ECC 6.0 EHP2 with an EP 7.0
Portal.
There is nothing standard for New Org Unit yet but we are expecting this
to be delivered in ECC 6.0 EHP4.
Regards,
Jocelyn
