Workflow getting triggered via 'Workflow started' and not via

 We are on ECC 6.0.

The first step in my WF is a background step where it checks if the user
has authorization for to approve this mount. A variable is set to '0'(if
the user has auth) and set to '1'(if user does not have auth). After
this is a condition step to check this variable. If this variable is
'0', WF takes a path where it gets released via a BAPI. If the variable
value is '1', it has to take another path where it finds the user's
supervisor.
My WF gets hung in the first background step. In the log, no work item
gets created. I get a 'System overloaded, repeat batch immediately' in
the 'Display event trace' screen and in the last tab. I went and
executed in SM58 but still it stays there.

Hi Experts,

I want to execute a workitem present in someone's UWL as a workflow
admin from SAP R/3. When I am trying to do so from SWI1 by going to
technical display of workitem & activating administration it is giving
me a message that "The request cannot be started from Business
Workplace".

Is there a way that being a WF-ADMIN I can execute this workitem from
SAP
R/3 or Business Workplace or it can be done only from UWL?

Please advice.

Regards,
Shaurya Jain

Hi all,

We're using SAP_WAPI_EXECUTE_WORKITEM to execute a multi-step workflow.
It has a dialog step which executes OK but the subsequent background
task hangs in status STARTED. I've made agent assignment at the workflow
level, even made the workflow a general task
without success. Is anyone aware of any restrictions for using
SAP_WAPI_EXECUTE_WORKITEM?

All advice will be gratefully received:-).

thanks,
Dave Dartnell

Shaurya Jain,

You should be able to process it with SWI5. Just bring up the agents
workitems to be processed, double click on the workitem and execute on
the activities tab.

Hello Thad,

What sort of filter is used to get workitems into the 'Enter Invoice'
folder?
Could it be a language issue?

Also, what version are you on?

Dear SAP Gurus,

I have a workflow for the debit/credit memo create and approve.
Whenever I create a debit/credit memo within my limits(I have
authorization upto 500,000), it gets automatically released from a BAPI.
When I create a D/C memo above 500K, it has to go to my supervisor. This
WF is been working fine since years. Recently a user said whenever she
creates a memo above her limits, it is getting hung.
The event gets created but no workitem is created. I can see the log via
SWI2_FREQ and only there I see the workflow was started but not via the
events. When I go to the WF log and hit the grapic display, the WF has
started from the 'Workflow started' and not from the events.
The event is being raised from SWE_CREATE_EVENT. Please advise.

Hello,

You say it is getting hung, what is the exact status of the workitem?
Has it been routed to the user's supervisor? Perhaps you could check
if the rule which is looking for her supervisor supplies a result, by
running it separately.

What release are you on?
