RE: extended notifications and sap mail.
Hi John,
Do you mean SELFITEM.SENDTASKDESCRIPTION ?
This is a background task and not a dialog task and so NEVER goes to a
user's workflow inbox - it just fires a mail to a mail inbox - and hence
will NEVER be processed by Extended Notifications unless ....
you create your own notification/category/scenario handlers etc. to read
the details of the mail from SAP Office and create a separate extended
notification to send to their email inbox. This is possible but a few days
work and delving around in the murky depths of SAP Office. In any case the
notification would still be separate from the extended notification based
on dialog work items.
Otherwise if you only want this mail and no other mail ever to go to the
user's email address you will have to set the U recipient type and add
your own code to extract the user's email address prior to calling your
selfitem step.
Regards,
Jocelyn

Hi
Just to clarify. I am using Extended notifications, in the filter list I
have all the tasks from my workflow. Including a 'For info only' task that
is based on BO SELFITEM and TASKDESCRIPTION. All the tasks arrive in my
outlook inbox Except for the 'For info only' task which goes to my Sap
Inbox as a mail. I cant use SO16 to autoforward it to outlook.
Thanks
John

Not necessary - just use transaction SO16 to send to user's home address -
i.e. their email address maintained in SU01.

Jocelyn

Hi John,
Recipient type should be e-mail address
Inbal
2008/7/1 John A Haworth <jhoworth at csc.com>:
Apologies for the query, I should know this by now, but
its late in the day!
I am using extended notifications to send an email to a
user when they have a workitem that needs attention, that fine.
I also want to send an email for info only to the user.
Using the send mail task i.e. the senditem and taskdescription i am send
ing the info only email. But it is being received as a sap mail, and not
being sent out as via sapconnect. Dont want to switch on auto forwarding
as that will send everything for the user. I only have the sap user id
available, do I just change the Type ID i.e. recipient type?
Cheers
John
