Excluded Agents are maintained in the workflow step. You just pass in a
container element containing the list of agents to be excluded. Good
luck.

Thanks Jocelyn,

Sorry... I'm not a WFL Admin, just the SAP Purchasing guy (we have no
WFL admin!! ;-/).

I currently have a user assigned to multiple positions only when the
positions are sequential in the hierarchy (e.g. buyer who can also
approve as manager).

What I need is to have a buyer who will be creating PO's for two
different purchasing groups that have completely different approvers
(managers). So this Buyer will be assigned to two positions that point
to separate approvers after the PO is created. The Buyer is only
creating the PO's. I want to ensure that the workflows are routed to the
correct approvers.

I will look into using excluded agents. Is there a transaction that is
used to maintain this?

Ralph

Hi Ralph,

Don't know where you are getting your information from but obviously NOT
a good source.
Absolutley no problem with assigning a user to two positions at all for
this scenario.

Only questions are:
a) Do you want them to be able to approve at both levels for the exact
same PO - or must there be two separate people approving the PO? If the
first - do nothing, if the second use Excluded Agents to prevent the
first approver from also being the second approver.

b) Do you want to condense the two approvals into one step when this
user approves? If yes you need to model this in your workflow flowchart.

Subject: Workflow Question

Hi
I have a request from the business and I'm not sure if this can be done
in SAP Workflow.

We do all of our Marketing PO Approvals via workflow. We have a user
that needs to be assigned to two different Marketing Groups within the
Org Structure. Each group has it's own approval hierarchy for Mgr,
Director, VP and SVP. So each of these positions points to a different
Mgr etc. EVP is the same for both groups.

My understanding is that a user cannot be assigned to multiple positions
unless they are in the same approval cycle because the wfl routings
conflict????

Is there a way for a user to be assigned to two different groups with
their own approval cycle (Mgr, VP etc)? Both groups roll up to one
position at the Executive VP level. All positions below this are
different for these two groups.

Thanks in advance,

RJ
