Need to send extended notifications from different names: yes? no?

Alan,

I accomplished that by scheduling the RSWUWFML2 under different name and I assume doing the same for SWN_SELSEN suppose to work the same. The thing is that I'll need several jobs (one for each sender...).
As for your comment, I think the sender should be task dependant.
As for e-mail sent from WF-BATCH - this resolved within subtype.

Off-course it'd be great to this functionality within standard SAP.

BTW, if we're already discussing Extended Notification, one major missing functionality: In case you use extended notification to send collective message (which is unique for extended notification) the subject will always be the same, like "you have workitems in you inbox". This is very limiting - the subject should have been the scenario description. Example: I send collective mails for Notification processing and another for requisition release.
I've expected to have the mail subject accordingly. Off-course I developed this functionality using enhancement implementation however I think it should have been in the standard system.

Thanks.

Hi,
Greetings from SAP/IBM project "Atlantic" development :-)

Is there ever a need to send e-mail notifications out under different
names?
E.g.  notifications about invoice items are sent under the name
"ReactQuick Moneyatstake" whereas, say, leave approvals notifications
might be sent from the name r "DoYourColleagueAFavour" ?

I was just wondering if anyone out there has ever had this wish?

Best regards,

Alan Rickayzen

Hi Ramky,
Thanks for your inputs.I tried to mention the UWL link in SWNCONFIG ->
General Settings -> INBOX_LINK_URL and i am getting this is in notification.
But i would like to know is there any way to dynamically generate the link
along with the task id or work item id so that upon clicking the link the
user can open the work item in UWL directly. Please let me know if this is
possible or not.

If it is difficult to launch the task directly then, If we want to open only
the UWL then it is sufficient to mention the URL in the SWNCONFIG>General
settings right? In this case the user has to input the user name and
password right, is they any way to by pass it like SSO. Please advice.

Regards,
IKhan

Hi Friends,
I have the following requirement for Travel request workflow and Invoice
approval workflow. Please let me know how to achieve this.
While sending a work item to sap inbox we will put the base BO in the task
container right so that the approver can open the particular transaction.I
need the same functionality in UWL but instead of the BO i need to place
some link so that the user can open an iview or webdynpro application.
Basically the user dont want to login to SAP GUI he needs everything to be
done in Portal itself.
Do we need to do some settings in tcode SWFVISU for this or do we need to
change the associated xml file in UWL to provide the link to iview. Please
advice.

Hi Alan!  Wonderful to hear from you...
Many times, our customers would rather get mail from 'ReactQuick' than from 'WF-BATCH', although they have come to accept it.
If we:
a) were truly using extended notifications (please don't shame me)
b) and had the ability to differentiate the application, and set the sender name accordingly
I think there'd be less kvetching about WF-BATCH (even though it is cleverly disguised)

All the best, as always,
Sue

I would think it is easy enough to achieve with RSWUWFML2 by scheduling
the job with a different background user id and task selection.  It
would be nice to extend the same functionality to Extended Notifications
;-)

Cheers,
Ramki Maley.

Hi Sue,
Great to get a response from you personally.

But if, in the Lotus Notes Inbox (that's what I'm focusing on rather
than generic workflow capabilities) you had the chance to see
'ReactQuick' for all your notifications, irrespective of the task
type... Would that be loveable?

All the best,
Alan
