"Confirmation" Workflow in EBP

They are on EBP 4.0 now. Is the standard workflow for Confirmation is
available in this version?

There ARE standard workflows for confirmations - just use SWU0 on business
object BUS2203.
 
And if they copied and configured their own confirmation workflow based on
the shopping cart workflow I'm not suprised they are having problems, as
shopping carts allow for much more extensive functionality than is possible
with confirmations.
