'Wait for Event' step - which events can you wait for?

Hi Paul,

What they are worried about is a "race" where both forks finish
simultaneously as this has been known to cause unexpected failures.

In your case adding some additional steps after the wait for event and
before the fork end should be enough.

However it might be a cleaner process to have separate "Approved" and
"ManuallyApproved" events if that's possible for your scenario.

Subject: 'Wait for Event' step - which events can you wait for?

Folks,

I have created a simple Approval workflow with two branches:

Branch #1 sends an Approval workitem to a user,
Branch #2 waits for an external Approval event to occur, then (does some
other things) and terminates the workflow.

Simple, no?

However, while creating the 'Wait for Event' step in Branch #2, I
noticed
the following warning (in the step description):

"You should not use this step type in a fork to wait for an event that
is
triggered in another branch of the same fork."

My questions are:

- Huh? if the document is approved via Branch #1, then of course the
'Approval' event is going to be triggered!
Are we supposed to raise a separate 'ManualApproval' event?

- what happens to the workflow if you ignore this advice?

thanks!
Paul
