Choosing approver from the list of possible agents at runtime ??

Hi All,
I am using,ECC 6.0 and In my scenario we want to give the initiator the 
flexibility to choose the approver from the list of possible agents 
appeared at runtime.

I am using std task - TS 30200146 , for solving the purpose of selecting 
the required agent from the list of possible agents.
In 4.7 this functionality is given in WF Wizards , but I m not able to get 
this in ECC 6.0.
So what I have done so far is :
1)after triggering event , has created a step, associated it with a task 
and in task properties I hv defined task as "general fwding allowed " and 
in create agent assignment , i have defined a org unit as possible 
agent.and in activity level I have not defined any agent .

2)then i hv used std task - TS 30200146, with task as "general task" and 
in activity level i have defined agent as "WF initiator", as per my 
knowledge this task should create a dialog box for initiator giving him 
the list of possible users.

3)then i hv created a step ,associated it with a task and method . and i 
want the workitem for this task to get deliver to the "agent which is 
selected by initiator in above step".

My WF is getting stopped , no dialog box appears giving me the list of 
possible agents.
I am badly stuck .Please help me out in solving this critical  issue .This 
is very important for us to solve this matter asap.
