can you change the event container in SWEQADM?

Yes you are correct Paul. If you double-click on an event in the event
browser it will show the container. Have a look at the coding in
function module SWE_EVENT_DISPLAY in function group SWEQ. No promises
but it might give you some clues as to how to proceed.

I suppose it's not an option to retrigger the events from the
application? The intent of the event queue is really to handle
scenarios where the event is ok but the workflow is not. Any option of
changing your workflow to make the parameter non-mandatory and
supplement it in the workflow should be considered as well.

Tom,

Thanks for that, but I don't see how you can use SWIA to change the
container.

If the event is stuck in the event queue, no workflow has been triggered
yet. Hence, there is no workitem to select in SWIA.

Or have I misunderstood?

cheers
Paul

Hi Paul,
You can re-initiate the event in SWEQADM, but that's the same as using
SWUE.
So, I would advise to 'Logically Delete' your instance in error and then
restart it in SWUE with the correct parameters.

Just note that re-triggering the event in SWUE will set you as the
_WF_Intiator - So if your workflow is using the initiator as an agent,
you
will need to manually forward the work items off manually.

Alternatively, as the Workflow is in 'Error', you can use SWIA to modify
container elements and then 'Restart Error Workflow'.

Tom

Morning folks,

I have a simple question to start the week.

If you use the event queue (SWEQADM) to trap events with errors, is it
possible to edit the events before (re)delivering them?

For example, if the event is missing a mandatory parameter, is there any
way of adding it on-the-fly?

If not, what is the correct procedure to follow, to ensure that no
events
are lost?
Delete the event and raise one manually from SWUE?

cheers - and thanks
Paul
