User to suspend workflow

You do not need a new task. You can use the same one. That is what I would do:
 
1- Put your task inside a loop.
2- Define a terminate event to detect the "suspend" and "resume" status
3- In that case, you will call the same task, but recalculate the deadline (that has to be based on a container element) to a very far future date (I do not know if you put no date the deadline will be 'deactivated'. That is something you should try).
4- If the "resume" event is raised, you have to go back on the loop and recalculate the deadline properly
 
It is still complex, but at least you do not have to use a new task. You have to decide what is better.

Hi, On ECC6.0 I would like to have an event, for example 'Suspend',  which when raised would suspend the calculated date in the deadline monitoring indefinitely, until the user would raise another event, for example 'Resume' at which time the calculated date would be recalculated and the workflow process would resume.  I cannot seem to find an easy way to do this, other than to create a terminating event which would then call a new step with the same task but without the latest end active.  This approach doesn't allow me to 'freeze' the workflow and also introduces unnecessary complexity in an already complex workflow.  Any ideas?
