Request: Best Practices for the implementation of a lean document workflow

Hi All,

we are currently working for a customer in Germany who wants to implement a document imaging solution/archiving system (Ixos) and a lean document workflow in SAP. The documents are mainly invoices. 
We are searching for best practices and experiences from other SAP-users especially concerning the reporting functionalities in the workflow. 
It would be great, if you can provide any workflow related material.
