Services for Object Question

Hi Paul,

Thanks. That's what I suspect. The requisitioner will have to do a
2-step process (ME51N to create, then ME52N to attach) inorder to
provide documentation on their request (the option kind of sucks). At
the create, the requisition is already sent to the approver/s (which
doesn't give them a clue if there was documentation provided). But hey,
can't give the world to them. They just need to deal with it. I mean I
can code it and further complicate the overall design of the workflow.

Thanks,
Bryan

Bryan,

The GOS (Generic Object Services) icon can only appear when you have an
individual object on the screen (because it performs operations on that
object).

If you are running ME51N (Create), then no object exists yet.

Try running transaction ME53N (Display); the GOS icon should appear as
soon
as you select a Purchase Req.

cheers

Hello Fellow Wfers,

I'm having a hard time looking for the setting to turn on or activate
the
Services for Object for ME51N (usually found on the upper left part of
screen, just below command line). The Services for Object is where you
can
Create, Attach List, Private Note, Send, Relationships, Workflow, etc.

Thanks in advance,
Bryan

Good one Jocelyn!

Nice to know that someone still reads the FAQ :-)
On a more general comment, it is being updated on a semi-regluar basis,
so even if you're seen it, please do check back occasionally another two
items have been added just this month.

Cheers,
Mike

Subject: Identifying positions by people's names in SRM org structure?

G'Day folks,

Just a general query: I'm on my second SRM site where positions are not
positions ('Warehouse Manager') but created and named for each person
('John Smith') - with a person/business partner/user of the same name
attached.

When someone leaves/moves, the position is deleted/moved and a new one
created/moved for their replacement. This means that position-related
approval data has to be altered (needless to say this is a painful way
to do things) and I have yet to be given a convincing argument why it
should be so.

Since I've now seen it twice I'm wondering how many others abuse their
SRM org charts and if there's any common reason it should be this way?
Is this a recurring SRM theme or have I just been unfortunate enough to
stumble across the only two sites in the world?

Input appreciated!
Cheers,
Mike

Recently our SAP system is upgraded to ECC 5.0 version. After upgrade
one user is not getting attachments in the inbox.

And the scanned invoice is forwarded to that user for checking
from the other user. But attachments are not appearing in
inbox.Authorization object PLOG is already assigned to him.

Please let me know if you have any ideas?

  Best Regards,

Veena,

I recently had a similar problem. I have work items with objects and
attachments that users want to view before they execute their work item
(ex. purchase requisition approvals). The attachments were visible in
the work item, but they couldn't view the attachment by double-clicking
on the attachment.

If you go into your SAP inbox => Workflow Settings => Personal
Settings, there is a checkbox "(Double) clicking on an object displays
the object in the same window". Check this box and see if it solves
your problem. If it does, in SAP configuration you can modify the
default settings so that this check box will be check for all users.
The catch is, the users need to click the "Default Settings" in their
own SAP inboxes for this functionality to be invoked.

Good Luck.
