Example for using ABAP class in Workflow steps

Hi,

Wanted to have some info with regard to using ABAP class in Workflow
steps:

1. From which version onwards ABAP classes can be used in worflow steps
as against BOR object methods?
2. Where can I find an example to see how ABAP classes are implemented
in workflow methods?
