Hi Tim:

Your customer might mean SAPcomm.

There are two ways to send faxes from the R/3 System: You can use SAPconnect, which replaces the R/3 communications server, or SAPcomm (the R/3 Communication Server). SAPconnect/SAPcomm manages not only fax but also telex and mail communication. In this case, the spool system serves only as the repository for communication requests. The requests are carried out by the R/3 communication server. You can find more information on SAPcomm from SAP's HELP.

Regards,
Larry Hu

Hi Mike,

Best regards

Tim

Hi Tim,
Sendmail is a widely used mail program on unix/linux systems. But I think this is not what you're after. Sapconnect is the mail subsystem, which in turn is configured to talk to a mail server which could be sendmail or postfix running on the local machine or even a MS Exchange or Notes server elsewhere.

In what context did they mention this? A mail step in WF is often referred to as a sendmail step, which would be something completely different. Or perhaps we are talking about notifications telling users that they have items in their inbox - look at report RSWUWFML2.

Cheers
Mike
