SRM Workflow Generating Versions

Hi,

We are trying to run in SRM, workflow WS14000075 - Workflow without Approval
for Purchase Order.

I've defined the start conditions for both the "Saved" & "Save Change
Version" events as "Event Creation Date > 01.01.2005".

When we created a PO then was no workflow trigger. On investigation via the
workflow builder we get the following error "Workflow definition "WS14000075
does not exist in version '0001'". There are 2 versions in the system
"0000" & "0001" of which "0001" is active, however the system only allows us
to view version "0000". If we try to view version "0001" we get the error
list above.

We further logged onto OSS to see if there are any notes regarding this
issue and found note 739132 regard a different workflow with the same
problem.

We decided to implement their solution even though we are on support package
08,

"The correction is delivered with SRM_SERVER 5.0 Support Package 1. As an
advance correction, carry out the following steps:

Transaction PFTC -> choose task type = 'Workflow template' -> Task =
14500001 or 14500019, action = 'Change'. On the next screen, select
'Workflow Builder' -> then choose 'Workflow -> Generate version' from the
menu bar. Save and activate the new version of the workflow definition."

We did this in our Dev system & transported the correction to QA.

The transport activated version "0000" but is now constantly generating
inactive version of the same workflow, we are now have 134 versions and this
is increasing constantly.

Has anyone ever had this problem & how do I stop this version creation..?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Many Thanks
