Thanks Mike and Phil for the inputs. I will check once more if the customer
could be happy with the standard structures / transaction codes.

Hi

It's true that WIS is going to be deprecated, but I suspect it still will be
available for some time, its not yet deleted from NetWeaver 04.

I've tried to make sense of the new BI functionality, but call be a
reactionary, if you've paid for R/3 your entitled to use the functionality.
That aside (putting on steel helmet) transaction MCA1 is the area menu for
WIS.

The standard analysis (infostructures S300-S303) only sum up all workflows,
without distinguishing any particular process. Infostructure S504 an example
for particular scenario. I would define a new infostructure, extend the data
layout with your own fields (transaction MCAM) and populate within user exit
WISEXIT (transaction MCAN).

The front-end of the WIS reports is not particularly petty, resembling as it
does Report Writer. And I would not bother with the suggested statistical
analysis given in MCWF_TRANS. Where WIS us particularly useful is in pareto
(ABC) analysis and slice/dicing the output.

Give me a shout if you get stuck.

Phil

Hi,
The WIS is going the way of the Dodo, don't make any long term plans with
it. It's all supposed to go BI, but so far I haven't come across a site
that uses BI/BW/whatever they'll call it next for WF stats.
There's quite a lot of info you can get out of SWI2_DURA, Excel can also
do quite a lot (for one-off type reporting).

Cheers,
Mike
