regarding WAPI Func. module

Vijay,

Sorry I thought I had already explained. The WAPIs are function modules
officially released to customer - i.e. they are guaranteed to work
reliably when you upgrade etc. Also the interface has been deliberately
simplified to make them easier to use - i.e. a normal ABAP programmer
can understand them, you don't need special workflow experience.

Plus if you raise support issues and you are using internal (not
released) function modules you are likely to be told this is a
consulting issue and not covered under your maintenance agreement. So
for the sake of both future upgrades and support use the WAPIs if you
can.

As usual functionality is enhanced or changed as we move from one
release to another. Therefore it may be but is not necessarily possibly
to downgrade functionality from 6.20 to 4.6C. Any such downgrade would
be classified as a modification.

I would strongly suggest you use the WAPI in 6.20 - and also in 4.6C
*unless* you explicitly need the extra parameters provided in the 6.20
version. If you do use the old routine in 4.6C you should add
comments/include it in any future upgrade plan a recommendation to
convert to the WAPI on upgrade.

Subject: regarding WAPI Func. module

Hi Jocelyn,

You had asked me to use this func. module SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT over
SWE_EVENT_CREATE
for creating events to call workflows. Is there any specific reason to
use
this new function module.
One more thing...there are two SAP systems at our place. One is release
46C
and the other is 620.
The WAPI module in 620 has extra fields called USERID and SY_LANGU,
while
the 46C release doesn't have these extra fields. Can I enable these
fields
in the 46C release also. Please tell me how to do it.

Regards,
Vijay
