Interactive Forms(Adobe) workflows with the Enterprise 4.7backendsystem

Hi Kjetil, Jocelyn:

Kjetil: no - it's not a problem to run workflows in the 4.7. This what i'd probably end up doing in the end.

The issue is that they still want to use 4.7 as the primary application system, but also have Interactive forms functionality to go with it. Since this would require adding NW04 somewhere in the landscape, i assumed it would be a "normal" secondary app. system with ABAP and Java stack and i could run my workflows there using the RFC to exchange data - so thus was my question...
But what Jocelyn proposes seems to be a better option since we won't need to distribute users/master data anywhere and run the workflow in the primary application environment using RFC calls to the forms UI. This is the task-oriented concept Alan was talking about in his article in SAP Insider, by the way.

Jocelyn: i will have to get back to you for the details, is it okay? if the NW04 should have only Java stack then would that still be possible to use the functionality via RFC or will i need an ABAP as well? Sorry, I did not use NW with java stack before...

Thank you,
Sergey

"There" was a bad choice of word. It referred to his suggestion about running on the NW04 platform.
So from what you say it seems they don't even have that choice.
