display deadline messages in UWL

Paul,
I always send mails these days.

Never liked the simple deadline notification approach as you can't
control the subject text and it can give unintentional access to the
original work item.

Plus send mail steps are so easy and obvious nowadays it seems like hard
and less-than-obvious work to set up different deadline texts on the
task itself.

Besides which - if its escalation you want the user notified as soon as
possible - and as they are more likely to check their email than logon
to the system in most cases, it makes sense to me to send the deadline
message to email.

My two bits worth.
Jocelyn

Hi Paul

I was advised by Jocelyn to always use modelled deadlines, simple is not
supported by the UWL.

Regards,
Marc.

All,

OSS has just provided a short answer to my question about displaying
deadline messages
in the Universal Worklist:

            "No"

The long answer is:
UWL is designed to work only with the workitems in the folder
"Workplace" > "Inbox". Items in other sub-folders are not
displayed
      in the UWL.

So maybe the UWL is not so 'Universal' after all. :-)

I suppose the best solution is to create modeled deadlines that send a
notification.

cheers,
Paul

Hi,

A very quick question:

Does anybody know how to display 'deadline messages' (those workitems
that are issued when a deadline is passed) in the Universal Worklist?

We are using 'simple' deadlines. They seem to generate a special type of
workitem - they don't have a 'TS' number.

We're on R/3 4.7 (6.20), Enterprise Portal 6.0

thanks
