Synchronization issue

Hello All
Here is my situation , we have developed a custom workflow
in FI Travel module based on the standard workflow
ws2000050 and added a new method(submitted) in the business
object to trigger the workflow. The problem is sometimes
the workflow is not triggered eventhough we have trip
indicator /status fields are updated correctly in database.
We do abap memory space to retreive and trigger.
1. Is there any limitation using abap memeory space
2. Or is it an synchronization issue with Portal. We
trigger the workflow through Eenterprise Portal.

Please throw some lights on this.
