There is no problem with restarting a Workflow through SWI2_DIAG.

However, if the restart does not fix the error, then you will need to investigate.

 

If a Workflow goes into error on the start step, then I would suggest that you check the following:

1. Check that the PA20 infotype 105 record exists for the initiator and the recipient.

2. Ensure that the validity date for that record is active (end date greater than today)

3. Ensure that the SU01 record exists and is valid for the recipient.
