universal worklist iview and business workplace

All,

I'm new to workflow and am trying to set up some workflows. We are using enterprise portal version 6.0 and SAP ERP2004. This is a bit of a general query.

If you have mails in your inbox on the portal (i.e. using the universal worklist iview) should these mails also appear in your inbox in the back end system??
