We're in 4.6C. Thanks for the suggestion about SWI6. It's a great
report, but is there any way to save your layout changes?

Hi Andy/Alexis,

If you want to see where your PCR is up to, either use Generic Object
Services button, e.g Go to a display
transaction for the notification, enter the notification number - look
for the floating button in the top left hand corner - go to the
"workflow overview" option. You can also include this option in your
own report - there's a couple of ABAP classes to use (search on CL*GOS*
in SE24).

Another good tool is SWI6 (it's easier in 4.7 and above) - enter your
business object type Bus7051? and your notification number as the object
key and you will see a similar workflow overview summary.

If you see too many technical steps - remember you can always hide them
on the summary logs if you change those steps to have the "not in log"
flag checked in your workflow definition.

I've done a reaonsable amount with ISRs/PCRs now and both of these tools
are definitely useful - especially if you make sure you put decent work
item texts on all your tasks.

Hi Andy,

We're also implementing the PCRs through MSS. Unfortunately, SAP does
not deliver a good way to report on HR notifications. What we have done
is customized the workflow to save the notification number, scenario,
and other relevant information in a custom infotype. We then built a
custom report based on this infotype. Using the notification number,
you can call function ISR_SPECIAL_DATA_GET to pull back all the relevant
information from the PCR form.

The big problem is reporting on the PCR's current position in the
workflow. Unfortunately, the notification number doesn't help too much
in this regard. If you know the approximate date and time it was
created and by whom, you can use SWI1, however our HR users were
nonplussed (to say the least) about this tool. So, I'm in the process
of incorporating some of this information into the report as well, ie,
who's inbox is the PCR in, etc.

Hope this helps,

Alexis

Subject: Workflow reporting

Hello Abby,

I would like to get some more information regarding workflow reporting.
My name is Andy Escanuela and I am the HRIS manager at Safety-Kleen
systems in Dallas Texas. We just went live with Manager's Self Service
in 03/05 and are currently looking to run some reports for workflow
administration. The only transactions I have been told to utilize are
swi2_freq and swi2_dura. The problem is that the reporting fields look
like jibberish to me. I am looking to report on notification numbers
out of SAP Portal (i.e. - Notification number, submiteed by, name of
PCR, etc.) I was wondering if you had any experience on reporting for
HR workflow?

Please advise.

Thank you in advance.
