Triggering workflow from output types

Use program RSWEMC01 and form CREATE_EVENT (use F4 on the form selection
as I may have misremembered) this is a generic report to trigger an
event for the values you can then customise in 'maintain conditions':
Create your condition for medium 9 (workflow event) and then when you
press the 'communication' button you will be able to enter an object
type and method.

Hope this helps,

Hi Mike -

I've actually already gotten the output type defined (I've done it
before for forms and SAPscripts et al, but never workflow). What I'm
trying to figure out is within the processing routines in the
configuration for the output type - there's space for a print program
(program and FORM routine) and a sapscript, or a smart form and a print
program, but I'm not sure how to input a workflow into the config!
Should we write a program to start a workflow - and then simply trigger
the workflow from within the program? Or can you designate the
workflow directly? Obviously then you could enter the program and the
FORM routine and leave the form/sapscript fields blank...

Your help is appreciated!
Abby :)

Hi Abby,

It sits in customizing of output determination. If you haven't done this
before I'd suggest sitting with a functional person as it can otherwise
make the brain hurt.

You/they need to create a new output type in config, and in the master
data portion you can define the workflow. This differs by application,
but if you and the apps person get stuck, just shout here.

Cheers
Mike
