THE FOLLOWING APPLIES to 4.6 or Below, 6.x release can send mails
directly.

on 4.6c or below SAP supplies an executable (exe) that in turn issues a
command
at OS level (command line) to send the mail.
Eg Sapconnect calls via rfc mlunxsnd.
mlunxsnd then issues a  command such as 
sendmail -t   <bla> ...
The OS command such as sendmail then actually sends the mail.

The exchange connector is an alternative for getting emails from SAP to 
an exchange server.
The mlunxsnd technique works with an tool.

IBM provide a tool to get mail from SAP to send them with domino.
Ask IBM for more info.

my customer own a 4.7 SAP version. 

I want to create a task for my workflow who will send directly emails. I
found on sdn.sap.com a Weblog for send email from ABAP :

but the author talk about WAS and i don't have this. 

Now with these data, please, can you tell me which are the components
has to
install to send emails ? SAP Exchange, SAP Connect, or... ?
