Roles and profiles are complicated things: did you check SU53?

Yes,
And the symptoms come forward only for two users, but there are lot of users with the same role and profile.
Could be a GUI problem? I don't know, but I'm confused:)

Yes, I know, that could be an authority problem, but the substitute has the
same role and profile and he can see that he's substitute for somebody.
Only the substitute can't check his substitutions.

Then it doesn't sound strange at all. You've got access, they don't.

With the users that are failing look at transaction SU53 (System > Utilities
  > Display Authorization Check) after you've opened the inbox.

If you see anything other than 'All checks have been successful' you may
need to involve your security team.

Have fun,
Mark

Where can I do that?
It's strange thing, because with my user id everything it's ok, but when I'm
trying with the specified users ID, the substitute column is disappearing.

Have you checked authorisations? Also I have seen this option removed before
in a 'pre-configured' system with a transaction variant.

Hope this helps,

Hi,
Yes, the substitution is active. And it's working fine, both of them gets
the workitem. The substitute can see that he's a substitute, but the user,
who creates the substitute, can't see his substitution.

Zsolt,

Have you checked HRUS_D2 table?
Substitution for that user must be activated for current date/time ...

Hi all!

I have a problem with the substitution. Some of the users can not see the
substitute (Settings->Wf settings->Maintain Substitute) even if the
substitution is activated.

The substitution works fine (both of them automatically see the workitem).

We are in 4.6c and we are using personal substitution.
Does anybody met such kind of symptom before?

Thanks
Zsolt

JB,

Please check for below in your system.

Table T77S0 contains an indicator specifying whether the substitute should
automatically see the additional work items when a substitution is
activated. This indicator should be set.

This setting can be processed using transaction SM30. The indicator must bet
set for AUTOF.

Thanks

Vinod

Hi Pradeep

Thanks for your response.
We have only Personal Substitutions and the problem faced is on the same.
Note 789922 seems to address similar (not the same) symptoms but only for
Position Substitutions?

Thanks
JB

Subject: Workflow substitution problem

Hello Friends !

I am not sure if this issue has arisen with the recent support pack
upgrade, but workflow substitution is behaving in a weird manner right now.
While some users can create a substitute as before and use the
functionality normally, there are some instances experienced by some users
where they are not able to create and use personal substitution at all.
While the table HRUS_D2 shows the substitutions are entered, nothing is
seen in the substitutioner's inbox and the actual substitution of inbox
works erratically. During the investigations we found that when
substitution creation is attempted,
     sometimes ...
Substitutioner's work items are not being seen by the substitute
Substitutioner's work items are disappearing in both inboxes
Substitutioner's work items are, in quite questionable ways , re
appearing in the inbox of either the substitute or substitutioner.

Our basis patch level is SAPKB46C48. GUI level is SAPKB64004. I looked at
some of the OSS Notes ( 799887, 763598, 743871 and 767360, 752529, 753456)
but I could not find any specific fix to this problem.

I am sure, someone of you, may have faced this problem.

I am not able to search a certain related post in SAP-WUG repository,
because it has been set to obsolate since MIT server moved to Mailman
server and Search Engine is under constuction.

I would appreciate any valuable help/suggestion on the issue.

Thanks.

Vinod Ramchandani.
