Debugging background work items

Hi Guru,
Maybe it is a simple question: is there a way for the system to revoke some work item from the workflow inbox before it gets processed?

There's no way that you can debug when it's in background. The workaround on this is you can make it as dialog step and then you can debug it.

Hi All,
is there a simple way to debug background work items? I've tried to set an external breakpoint for user WF-BATCH without any success.
Background of question: we are using external list management (ELM) in our CRM-system. All different steps within ELM are performed as workflow background steps.
Any help is highly appreciated!
