Event Linkage deactivated

Howdy,
You may have tried this already, but there is an option on the event
linkages in transaction SWE3 for behavior upon error feedback.  You have to
set it to 'Do Not Change Linkage' to ensure that the system doesn't
deactivate it.

Hi All,
I have a workflow that when the event triggers the event linkage deactivates
but I cannot see why.
I the event binding I have the WF Initiator and the relevant business object
bound in the event yet I get this error.
SWE_EVENT_RECEIVER_ERROR - Linkage deactivated

Can anyone offer any suggeations as to what might be the problem ?
