Something you may find useful for selecting layouts.... You can configure the columns available for the layout in the customising in the IMG. Then you can select these customised columns into the layout so that when you go to the grouped according to task section, you can pull in specific column names for the tasks in question.
 
SAP Web Application Server (or Basis Components depending on what release you are on) - Business Management - SAP Business Workflow - Basic Settings (Workflow System) - Determine Dynamic Columns for Business Workplace. The rest should be straight forwards from there.

Hi All 

When you click on the Inbox 'Workflow' folder and select a default global layout eg. /Default_layout as the default, the layout is applied to all the children folders and their tasks - except for tasks under the 'Grouped According to Task' folder. 

For example if you click on the 'Grouped according to content' child folder, the tasks will be displayed in the /Default_layout layout. When clicking on 'Select Layout' when a task is selected under the 'Grouped according to task' folder, nothing is available to select. I am assuming the layout for this task is the SAP standard.

Just wondering if anyone can answer why is this occurs. Do new layouts need to be set up for each individual task?
