Decision Task - Preview

Hi Margaret,
If you have set your UWL and workflow task up correctly, you should just
need to run the UWL admin "register work items" for that system and it
should generate that entry for you. Each time you add a new workflow
task, regenerate the XML file for that system.
Jocelyn.

Monica,

I have been playing with UWL a little and found to make my custom user
decision task display buttons in the preview, I had to add the task to
the UWL configuration file.

Here is what the ItemType attributes looks like in my system (your
mileage may vary):

  <ItemType name="uwl.task.webflow.decision.TS90507919"
connector="WebFlowConnector" defaultView="webflowView"
defaultAction="viewDetail" executionMode="pessimistic">

... if I recall correctly, the key thing was to find the prefix string
for "name" (uwl.task.webflow.decision.<your task number> ) that seems to
tell it this is a "decision" type of task, which is pre-defined in
another file. However I had not performed the other customization you
did, but I think this may still work for you.

If I sound hesitant it's because I'm still stumbling around a bit with
UWL, but I thought this might help you until a UWL guru shows up. ;-)

Actually Satish - I am working on the Portals. You are right that if I
use
the function module that you have mentioned I will see the buttons in
the
preview pane but that is only in R/3. What about the Portals. I have
used
that FM and in EP6 SP2 I do not see the buttons on the preview pane. I
have
a button - "Launch Task" and once I click that button then I see my
decision
buttons on the screen.

I want to see those buttons right on the preview pane. Is there a way
to
accomplish this in Portals and if yes then How?

Thanks.
Monica
