Webtransactions and MAPI / Outlook

I use the FORM.HTMLPROCESS as a mean for creating screens easily. =
(define containerlements, generate webtransaction and voila, you've got =
a screen!) This works fine (except dates but this is solved by a =
Z-table). If you execute these tasks in the Workplace, it work fine!
=20
I think this is not the right way of using 'webtransactions' but the =
result is good!
=20
But now I am wondering if this could also work in Outlook. (executing =
workitems in Outlook)
This is release R/3 4.6C.

Rob,
Definitely a trick question.

Web transaction =3D executed in a web browser
therefore accessed by a URL.

Work item has long text echoed to Outlook - put URL in long text.
Outlook will convert to hyperlink.

BUT web transaction still needs web environment.
Specifically FORM.HTMLPROCESS needs:
web server connected to ITS (SAP Internet Transaction Server) connected =
to R/3 system
+ custom built ITS service/templates based on your web transaction.

So ... if you're asking a question like this then I'm wondering if you =
have fully understood
how web transactions work.

You don't mention your release - might help you to know there are easier =
ways to build web transactions in SAP WAS systems (Basis 6.20 and above, =
such as R/3 Enterprise).

This is not a trick question. I made a webtransaction (FORM-HTMLPROCESS) =
and I want to be able to execute this in Outlook. I am wondering if this =
will/can work.

Situation: I have to make a workflow for Credit Management in SD where =
the agent can fill in Open Items which should be blocked and monitered.
AND they want to do it in Outlook. They have already the connection to =
SAP in Outlook for other workitems, so can they execute the new =
workitems.

Regards,

PS: sorry if this is a stupid question (if stupid questions exist)

Is this a trick question ?

Ok I will bite...

where Is the connection between the 2 ?

MAPI for Outlook does an rfc call to get information
and shows this in an Outlook form.

What is the connection to a webtransaction ?

Is there new functionality in MAPI for outlook I don't know ?

You have me very curious now
