Barcode in EMail notifications

You can attach Smartforms to emails as pdf attachments. It should be =
pretty straightforward to include barcodes in here (see transaction =
SMARTFORMS).=20
 
Note that in an SMTP email you can only include plain text, no specific =
fonts (a barcode is just a number displayed in a specific font).

     Our workflow ( BO - Z_BUS2089 , Subtype of BUS2089) triggers email
notifications to LotusNotes which contain Trip details as attchment.My
requirement is to bring in barcode for email notifications triggerred
for Travel Expenses.The barcode should reflect the Trip Number.
Any inputs on how to achieve this.
