HR systems conenction - ALE

Hello,
 
We are in the processes of connecting standalone HR
SAP Enterprise 4.7 ext 2 system to SAP R3 4.6C system.
 
I have no details how to configure ALE inbetween other
than I know how to create model view and message types
configurations.
 
We may be looking to get the company codes sync, cost
centers, WF Org manamgemt to HR system.
 
We are also looking to have change updates flowing to
HR system from SAP R3. What changes we are not sure
yet.
 
where shud I start configuration or please provide me
directions or help...
