Different event receiver FM's for starting WF's

G'day all,
Just a curiosity question:
What's the difference between
SWW_WI_CREATE_VIA_EVENT_IBF
and
SWW_WI_CREATE_VIA_EVENT
?
 
It looks like there's some extra XML stuff involved in the _IBF version, =
but
there is no doco on what exactly. Activating linkage from the workflow
builder seems to favour the _IBF version, but some of the other flows use
the other. Setting XML persistence to 'Compatibility' still causes the WF
builder to insert the IBF version. Different interfaces, but both work, s=
o
what gives?
 
Bonus question: What does IBF stand for?
