Change content of a workflow container

Hi everybody,
 
we had the problem that some data in a workflow was wrong.
So we decided to change the data in the container.
We changed the value of a multiline element but when i opened the =
container again after we changed it,
the multiline element was filled with the old value and the new value.
That means the old value wasn't overwritten by the new value but the new =
value was added to the old value.
 
Does anybody know why?
 
How do you change the container of a workflow?
Do you use FM SAP_WAPI_WRITE_CONTAINER ?
