RECTIFICATION - Passing attachments from a workflow to another workflow

H=E9l=E8ne,

My suggestion was based on a design whereby the main workflow calls the
subworkflow as a step/task within it and NOT by triggering an event to =
start
the subworkflow. If this is your design:=20

>From within the workflow graphical editor, double-click on the step/node
that represents the task that calls your subworkflow. Then, click on the
button labeled "Binding". There is a multi-line container element named
"_Attach_Objects". Pass (i.e. bind) that to the corresponding element in =
the
subworkflow. Repeat for each task in the subworkflow and the attachments
will be available to them.=20

If on the other hand, you trigger an event to start the subworkflow, I =
am
not sure how the attachments can be passed as the Event Container does =
not
appear to have this element. I probably should have paid more attention =
to
your use of the word "trigger" if you meant it literally. If this is the
case, I wonder if your design could be changed to the former to =
facilitate
the passing of information between the two workflows?

Best regards,
=20

Hi Jim,

Since it is from one workflow to another workflow, which binding do you
mean... can you explain.

Thank you!

H=E9l=E8ne,

Have you tried passing _ATTACH_OBJECTS to the subworkflow via the =

Hope this helps,

I did not explain properly the first time, turns out that my main =
workflow
get completed at the end while one of the branches trigers a completely
seperate workflow. Some attributes of the main workflow I need to pass =
to
the second workflow.

Any idea how to do that?

Strange.... I thought attachements were transferred automatically from
main WF to subflow...
At least if the attachment existed on the moment the subflow
started........

Kind regards

(by the way .. I think there are functions to manually bind a certain
attachement to a certain workitem id...... SWL_WI_NOTE_CREATE?)

subworkflow

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a way to pass attachments, which have been created or
imported by users, from a fairly complex staffing workflow to some other
subworkflows.

My problem is, when within the subworkflows, which have been generated =
by
the system, the attachments are lost. How do we bind between the two?

We are on 4.6, soon going to 4.7. Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you!
