Stopping IDOC Error Messages

The table with the tasks or workflows (no events in ALE errors)
controls what is started if at all.

Hi,
 We are having millions of entries stored in the Workflow tables like SWWIHEAD,
because of IDOC errors such as syntax errors/inbound errors/inbound errors.
These are triggered using status codes such as EDII, EDIO etc and not using
event linkages.We want to completely stop the workflow based notications, is
there a way to deactivate this process?
We are using SAP-4.7 system.
