Workflow deadline problem

Presumably the deadline monitoring job triggers the escalation process and cleans up the escalation entry, the escalation process tries to escalate the work item and the work item is locked by the user. Which is only a problem if the user currently working on the work item fails to complete it.
 
I would suppose this particular combination to be a fairly rare occurrence.
If you really want to avoid it you could possibly change the deadline time to make sure it was raised at an off-peak time (e.g. after working hours).  But I don't know that I'd bother in most business scenarios.

Hello to all,
 
In my workflow I used a deadline "Latest end" .
This deadline works properly:  : if the deadline has been reached, the
workitem disappear from the current user workplace, the workflow stop, and a
mail is sent to the system user.
 
But  I have a strange case. if the user is working with the workitem and the
deadline has been reached, the event is not raise (and never again after
!!!).
 
Do you have any idea?
