Hiding buttons/icons for workflow

Jocelyn,

Thanks for the suggestion.

I've been looking at the 'document from template' workflow step and I think
it's not available via a Web browser. Is that right?
Unfortunately, as the vendors would only access the SAP system via a
Web-GUI I don't think we can use it.

Have you used Generic Object Services (GOS) via an SAP Web-GUI? Can
attachments be added to the business object via GOS (Mark said it looked
doubtful).

Any other thoughts around the 'vendors entering their own invoices'
scenario are welcome.

Nicholas

Hi Nicholas,
Have you thought about using a "document with template" workflow step
instead?

A quick answer based on a quick test...

It looks bloody awful and doesn't seem to work. It may do, but the
interface is far from intuitive.

Mark and Michael,

Thanks for the emails.
One more quick question...

Is it possible to attach a file to the business object (an invoice for
example) via Generic Object Services from the Web-GUI (or GUI for HTML
etc...)?

You see, my client is interested in getting each of their vendors to enter
his own invoices but sometimes the vendor would need to add supporting
info
in the form of an Excel spreadsheet or Word doc. One option I'm looking at
is giving the vendors access to the client's SAP system (with suitable
security/authorisations in place) via the SAP Web-GUI. However this option
is only viable if the vendors can attach files via the Web-GUI - hence the
question!

Thanks again.

Regards,
Nicholas

Yep, no problems (with Workflow links anyway) through web-GUI or
GUI-for-HTML or whatever it's called these days.

Hi,

While we're on the subject of Generic Object Services, does anyone know if
it's available via the SAP Web-GUI or just from the Windows-GUI?
I don't have access to an SAP Web-GUI version at the moment.

Thanks.

Hi Kathleen,

We had the similar requirement.
What We had done was: At "Confirm end of Processing" - step (Complete
Workitem),
We request the User to justify their decision by attaching through Object
Link (available on workitem) via GOS.
( We had implemented WI Preview Exit to modify the Dialog Text and Logo ).
We have strictly ask to note & follow this Instruction in Workflow User
Training.

Vinod.

Hello all,

We are implementing workflow for purchase requisitions.
We want our users to create attachments to requisitions via services for
object, so the attachments can always be found when the requisition is
displayed.
We do not want our users to create attachments to the work item, because
they will not create a permanent record that stays with the requisition.

We've found a way to suppress the attachment button that the workflow
users see when they initially execute a workflow item.
However, after they have display the req. and add the attachment via the
services for object, and they are ready to complete the work item, they
see the following screen:

Does anyone know how to hide or suppress the attachment button on this
screen?
