Appointment calendar and workflow

Hi,
 
i was astonished today because one user telled me that he has entries from a
workflow in his appointment calendar.
In his workflow inbox there are 5 workitems, and in his appointment calendar
there are also 5 entries.
The date and the times of the entries are the same as the latest end date of
the 5 workitems!
Is there a connection from the workflow to the appointment calendar or any
settings??
