<F1> help only displays the text 'Function Module for Access to Event Container' and opening the SAP library
from there does also not display the FM you mention (4.6C).
 
You directed me to FM 'SWE_MODIFY_EVENT_CNTN_TEMPLATE' which is meant to do what I want. You were right that
table SWELOG can't be used: first because the event trace is not turned on on production, secondly because the
event trace entry has not yet been written to the database.... Now in the 'event container FM' we select the
system field CPROG (which is put in the field EV_PROGRAM in the event log entry) and put it in a custom event
parameter. This works well!
