_WI_Group_Id - grouping workitems in the business workplace

Dear workflow gurus,
 
Does anybody has experience with binding to the _WI_Group_Id workflow
container element, in order to display workitems grouped according to sort
key in the business workplace ?
 
The problem we have is that any binding we create, does not cause the
workitems to be grouped according to sort key.
 
Any help is much appreciated.
