Outlook integration with Citrix terminal server

A number of different possibilities exist.

Replies to mails about a work item can be sent back to the work item.
This is effectively a reply to mail.
Jocelyn posted an entry recently about this trick.

Alternatively you can build forms in Exchange to show the Workitem data and perform VBA rfc calls
back to the SAP_WAPI functions.

Short cuts / urls etc are also favourites in this scenario.

Just what dialog do you expect to do in Exchange ?
MAPI and SXC are 2 very different tools.
The Mapi provides a interface for executing WorkItems. But it directly
connected to SAP via RFC.

The SXC delivers mails and Mails can have attachments (forms).

So with SXC you use forms to make the process look nicer.

Where you intending to use R3F Smartform or Exchange forms?
R3f attachments sent Via RSWUWFML Workitem notification messages.

You could even use VBA forms and call SAP_WAPI functions to get the data
and of course send back the result.

Don't forget User decisions are easily covered by the Web Inbox.
So Links inside a mail to the inbox are useful.

You should do a little research here before getting to excited SXC
and automatic workitem features.

The integration level for SXC is message sending in and out.
Not a direct RFC MAPI client to SAP which MAPI offers.

Hope that gets you moving in the right direction.

Hi,

I am also looking at the Exchange server integration with Citrix.

By using Exchange connector, is it possible to execute the workitems directly from outlook say, decision making from outlook itself? without logging into R/3.

Does the outlook inbox synchronise with SAP Office inbox, I mean when the work item is executed from either side, will it be cleared from both sides?

Thanks & Regards
Ramkumar G.

With Exchange connector it is possible.
MAPI (client level) is not suited to citric since the profiles / logons are needed for each user on that machine.

Subject: Outlook integration with Citrix terminal server

Hi.

We want to integrate SAP workflow with Outlook in an environment with Citrix terminal server. According to an OSS note, SAP MAPI service provider cannot be used for such integration. The requirement is to be able to execute the workitem directly from Outlook. Is this possible by using exchange
connector or other tools?

Thanks
Tom
