SAPforms: requirered user ids

Hi Kjetil,
Yes but that would not give you dynamic access which would severely impair validation and other desirable aspects of the form. In any case, its false economy to try and do tricky technical work arounds when you don't even know what the current licensing situation is at your company.
The company may well already be licensed - e.g. if they have a mySAP.com license or are using ESS
or similar, or be planning to change their license in the near future due to other requirements.

Martijn, it's just not worth tying yourself in knots until you speak to the relevant SAP account
executive for your company and find out what the licensing situation actually is. You might be
pleasantly surprised.

A workaround would be to create a batch interface and submit the data to
SAP in batches. Surely SAP can't require that you should have a license for
anyone who feeds an interface with data. If they can there is something
(read: one more thing) wrong in this world.

Hi Martijn,
I absolutely agree with Phil. If you use a generic user id you still have
to
have an appropriate license for the actual number of people who are
accessing
the SAP system through it otherwise you are likely to in breach of
contract.
However I would strongly recommend you check if you have a mySAP.com
license and
who is covered under that.

If possible its always better to use real user ids - even if you hide the
actual
logon from users - for security and audit trail purposes.

Subject: SAPforms: requirered user ids

Dear all,

I am considering a scenario where employees can start a workflow via a form
in Outlook . Practically anyone can fill the form, most of them normally do
not have to work with SAP and do not have an user id.
I think in this case it makes sense to use a generic user id in SAP that
'submits' the form and let the actual submitter enter an e-mail address in
the form to be able to notify him/her of the workflow progress.

Does anyone know if this is allowed from a SAP-license point-of-view?
Will this scenario work or are there other settings required that require a
unique user id?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Martijn Wever
