SAPforms: required user ids

Hi Martijn,

it is best to check with the local SAP office directly.
There are many subtle variations on contracts, that no one from
SAP should give you a quick and dirty answer.

What is normally the case, anyone carrying work on an SAP system
whether a generic user if id has been used or not, is considered to
have been accessing the functionality. Hence a licensing implication.

So it generally gets down to the type of user.
ESS... thru to Power User.
As you can imagine, there is no magic way of dodging legitimate licensing.

sorry to send you off to the audit hounds...
but really think that is best.

Subject: SAPforms: requirered user ids

Dear all,

I am considering a scenario where employees can start a workflow via a form
in Outlook . Practically anyone can fill the form, most of them normally do
not have to work with SAP and do not have an user id.
I think in this case it makes sense to use a generic user id in SAP that
'submits' the form and let the actual submitter enter an e-mail address in
the form to be able to notify him/her of the workflow progress.

Does anyone know if this is allowed from a SAP-license point-of-view?
Will this scenario work or are there other settings required that require a
unique user id?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Martijn Wever
