CATS: Approval by superior / TS20000460 4.6c

When Time has not been approved by a manager it is approved by HR at
some cut off time for payroll to run.
I noticed that this does not change the Tasks in the Managers in boxes
to "completed".
Is there a transaction to auto clean up these Time Approvals that HR
can run or
is this a WF Admin task to logically delete Time that has already been
approved?
 
Also, what is the implications of a Manager completing these Time
Approvals after the time
has already been approved?
