deadline monitoring

G'day John,
 
You need to use Modeled Deadline Monitoring rather than simple. There is a
tab for it within each deadline tab. When you use this format there are two
extra Outcomes for the step. One for the deadline being reached, the other
for the workitem being marked Obsolete. The deadline path uses a process
control step to go back to the workitem and mark it as obsolete at which
point the flow travels down that path. Looks weird, but it works.
 
Depending on your version there is a wizard to help included modeleld
deadline monitoring. If you look in the help under Activity Step
Maintenance, Deadline Tabs there is a link to details on Modeled deadlines.
