Your questions are: See answers....

Do I still have to run RSCONN01, after running RSWUWFML, in order to
deliver those notifications to our email system, which is Lotus Notes
   based?

RSWUFML generates mail messages, RSCONN01 sends them. (Calls mlunxsnd)
Assuming SCOT has been setup so that RFC destination is called.
This RFC destination should call MLUNXSND or some other RFC compliant
Program. See Internet mail gateway help on the Docu CD.

Does WF-BATCH have to have its own valid Lotus Email address specified
under SU01, and if so, what is the purpose for it?

A restriction was made that the sender should have a valid Internet mail address
maintained. How relevant that is questionable. DoNotReply at Company.com is always
        an option.

It doesn't need to be wf-batch. Perhaps BatchAdm or some other user is better.
Schedule RSCONN01 to run regularly under the user ID of BATCHADM for example.

Do the agents need to have their Lotus Notes email addresses specified
under SU01, or specifying such addresses under forwarding tab of the
   workplace office settings is sufficient?

This question depends on how overall Mail/SAPoffice settings are set in the
system. You should check transactions So13,SO16 and So36.
Pay careful attention to the MAIL SY.Grp tab in SO16. This then influences
whether automatic forwarding addresses are necessary or not.
Again, a read of the docu in this section of SAP-Office is recommended.

If I want to send workflow documents only (out of a mail step, NOT the
workitem notifications) to Lotus Notes - would it be sufficient to run
just RSCONN01, without running RSWUWFML earlier? Do I care for
WF-BATCH email address in this case ?

What do you mean by workflow document. Do you regular Emails documents (notifications)
in the users inbox. Then with the correct settings in SO16/So36/So13 RSCONN01 will forward these.
Watch the delete on forward option in SO13 ! Cleverly worded to also place in inbox !!!

Subject: RSWUWFML versus RSCONN01

Hi All:

I would appreciate a lot if someone could help me with the RSWUWFML versus RSCONN01 questions, as well as the usage of the email addresses associated with that technique.

I understand that RSWUWFML can be used to send notification to workflow agents Lotus Notes address, so that they are aware of workitems in their workplace in-boxes.

My questions are:

Do I still have to run RSCONN01, after running RSWUWFML, in order to
deliver those notifications to our email system, which is Lotus Notes
   based?
Does WF-BATCH have to have its own valid Lotus Email address specified
