Adding Multiline Expression To Mail Body

Hi,
 
I'm trying to add the items of a salesdocument to the body of my e-mail task. As it's a multiline element an expression like &&SALESDOC.ITEMS##& occurs. But when I check it, it says "this syntax is not allowed by workflow-system" with an error message . Is there a way of using multiline elements in mail body ?
